The Ben Lomond Hotel is one of Utahs most haunted structures in our opinion. It has had a very tragic past from the legends to even the truths. Located in one of Utahs long forgotten cultural hubs the Ben Lomond Hotel is located in the wildest town in Utah. Ogden really hit it big with the completion of the trans continental railroad which was completed just north of Ogden with tha laying of the Golden Spike which was layed as the tracks from East and West finally met. Since that time this town has been a stoping point for many of americas poor and wealthy alike who were traveling the country looking for succes. It is housed along the downtown corridor that was once filled with opium dens and prostitution, something Utah would like to forget. What the state cannot seem to forget are the souls of the people who lost thier lives along this downtown corridor. It is one of the most haunted streets (doing a business by business comparison with all building in the downtown area compared to other downtowns we have been to.
There are tunnels that run from the train station up 25th street and every establishment we have investigated that was linked to these tunnels seem to have some history of unsual ghostly activity. And being one of Utahs most majestic hotels it is no wonder why spirits seem to be drawn to this place, wanting to bask in its wood carved, unchanged for dozens of years charm. A stay in this hotel will take you back to the more glorious days of Ogden Utah.
The following is the case file from one of the G.H.O.'s first investigations.
